ABOUT THE HOSPITAL
A healthcare home for mothers, newborns and children.
Mother and Child Hospital, Okurikang, is a Federal Government health facility in Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The hospital was developed as part of national efforts to expand access to maternal, newborn and child healthcare. It forms part of wider government-supported health infrastructure initiatives aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3 - Good Health and Well-being.

Construction
The Federal Government developed the 80-bed Mother and Child Hospital, Okurikang, through the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs), as part of a national programme to expand access to maternal, newborn and child healthcare.
FEBRUARY 2024
Handover to FNPH Calabar
The Federal Government handed over the facility to Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Calabar, for management and operation.
2nd OCTOBER 2024
Clinical services commenced
The hospital commenced clinical services on 2 October 2024.
